Our colleagues in HORUS and experts in nutrition and metabolism, Celia Bañuls and Milagros Rocha from Fisabio, presented their study titled “Descriptive Analysis of New Type 2 Diabetes Diagnoses in a Valencia Health Department.”
What did this reveal? A significant increase in new Type 2 Diabetes cases since 2020, especially among middle-aged men. This results serve as a reminder of the need for further studies to help us understand what is driving this increase, and most importantly, how we can prevent it.
This connects with the goals of the HORUS project, which aims to tackle the prevalence of these diseases by studying how urban planning can contribute to healthier urban environments.
Celia and Milagros shared these insights last week at the 36th Congress of the Valencian Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition (SVEDyN), held in Valencia on November 22 and 23, 2024
