The purpose of this section is to collect and synthesise the available evidence on the impact of interventions and characteristics of the urban built environment on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). This section will be updated periodically throughout the project. The evidence synthesis can be found in the downloadable booklet. The main highlights are detailed below.

HORUS Literature Review

We have conducted a review of observational epidemiological studies analysing the relationship between the urban environment and the prevalence/incidence of NCDs – specifically, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) – and associated risk behaviours.
