From October 28–29, 2025, partners of the HORUS – Urban Health project gathered in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) for the project’s Consortium Meeting.
Hosted by Erasmus MC, the meeting brought together all partners from across Europe to review the project’s progress and plan its next steps.
Reviewing progress and planning what’s next
Over two days, partners presented updates from each work package, shared lessons learned from the pilot cities, and discussed upcoming deliverables and activities.
The meeting also served to exchange insights from the pilot sites — Valencia, Rijeka, and Rotterdam — where HORUS is testing new ways to promote healthier lifestyles and prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by improving the urban environment and supporting behaviour change.
Collaboration and community engagement
Partners highlighted the importance of community participation and co-design as central pillars of HORUS. The project continues to work closely with local residents, health professionals and policymakers to ensure that all interventions are inclusive, relevant and sustainable.
Looking ahead
As HORUS moves forward, the focus remains on translating research into practice, scaling up successful interventions, and communicating results to both scientific audiences and citizens.
The meeting in Rotterdam once again demonstrated the project’s collaborative spirit and shared commitment to designing cities that protect (rather than challenge) people’s health.
