19th European Public Health Conference 2026

Six HORUS abstracts accepted at the 19th European Public Health Conference

The 19th European Public Health Conference (EPH Conference 2026) will take place in Bilbao, Spain, from 11-13 November 2026, under the theme:

«Urban and global synergies: shaping the future of public health with climate resilience, equity and innovation».

The annual conference is one of Europe’s leading public health events, bringing together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to discuss current challenges and innovations in public health.

We are pleased to share that researchers from the University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine (MEDRI), partners of the HORUS project, will contribute to the conference with six accepted abstracts, selected from approximately 3,500 submissions and accepted for poster presentation.

The accepted contributions address several topics related to urban health, healthy ageing and behaviour change within the framework of HORUS, including:

  • Diet and physical activity risk patterns in urban adults: HORUS Rijeka pilot
  • Readiness for Behaviour Change: Evidence from Urban Interventions on Promotion of Healthy Ageing
  • Neighbourhood Urban Profiles and Health Outcomes: Findings from the HORUS project in Rijeka, Croatia
  • Readiness for prevention: health-related quality of life and self-efficacy in urban older people
  • Mindfulness and forest bath for arterial hypertension in older women: quasi experimental pilot
  • Environment and belonging at baseline among older adults in the Rijeka HORUS pilot

The acceptance of six abstracts at such a competitive international conference highlights the scientific work being carried out within HORUS and the contribution of the MEDRI team to advancing knowledge on the relationship between urban environments, health and healthy ageing.

We congratulate the authors and look forward to seeing HORUS represented in Bilbao this November.
