HORUS at the IV Global Summit of Science, Nature and Health

The HORUS project participated in the IV Global Summit of Science, Nature and Health, an international online event organised by the Diputació de Barcelona and Forest Therapy Hub, focused on the intersection between innovation, nature, health and sustainability.

Bringing together researchers, practitioners and professionals from multidisciplinary fields, the summit explored how nature-based approaches can contribute to health promotion, professional development and more sustainable societies through research, practical applications and collaborative knowledge exchange.

As part of the programme, Prof. Vanja Vasiljev participated as an invited speaker in Module 13: “Science with purpose: From data to transformation”, presenting:

“Forest Therapy as a Complementary Intervention for Hypertension Treatment in Older Women: Cardiovascular and Psychosocial Effects”

The presentation explored the potential of forest therapy and nature-based interventions to support cardiovascular and psychosocial health among older women, highlighting how exposure to natural environments may contribute to healthier ageing and improved well-being.

The session also connected closely with broader HORUS themes around urban health, healthy environments and the role of everyday surroundings in shaping physical and mental health outcomes.
